Urgent CALL TO ACTION! Demand Senator Mike Lee Lift Hold on 9/11 VCF Permanent Authorization Act
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has placed a hold on The Never Forget The Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, preventing it from advancing to the floor of the Senate for a vote and further delaying the help that 9/11 responders need and deserve.
The U.S House passed the bill last week by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 402-12.
Call Senator Lee's office and demand that he quit playing games with the lives of 9/11 first responders on the line. Demand that Senator Lee lift his hold immediately on the 9/11 VCF Permanent Authorization Act.

As we "Spring Forward" this weekend for Daylight Savings, please remember this is the opportune biannual time to check your smoke alarms in your home. Working smoke alarms save lives! Please check to make sure that all smoke alarms are functioning properly (by using the test feature) and change your smoke alarm batteries! Most smoke alarms have a 10-year life span - if your smoke alarms are more than 10 years old, it is time to go ahead and replace them! If you need any assistance with any of the above, please don't hesitate to contact your local fire department. If you are a City of Williamsburg resident, you can reach us directly at (757) 220-6220 or (757) 220-6222.

Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act (1935) guarantees employees “the right to self-organization, to form, join or assist labor organizations, to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing, and to engage in other concerted activities for the purposes of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection." It is the right of employees to form a union and this is what gives the working class our power
